Choir

The
St. Clement of Ohrid Church Choir has existed since the
consecretation of the church in 1965.
In
the early days, the choir group was informal and performed
sporadically, and most often for the larger holidays where
enough people would be able to gather for that particular
occasion.
In
the late 1970's, Evgenija Kordik, as Music Director and
Conductor, organized a more dedicated
group of people to sing weekly during Sunday church services.
This particular group had existed for almost 15 years, and
they would perform at Sunday services once, two or three
times per month, and from time to time, they would perform
at some of the Church's gatherings with Macedonian folk
songs.
In
early 1990's, Professor Filip Angelkovski was appointed
as Music Director and Conductor of the Church Choir.
Today,
the Church choir consists of 45 people and continues to
grow. There is always room for more new members. Anyone
interested joining the Church Choir is welcome. For more
information please call Church Office at 416-421-7451, or
the Music Director and Conductor, Prof. Filip Angelkovski,
at 416-285-4744.
The
Church Choir performs The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom
every Sunday during the months of September through June
every year. The Church Choir also performs during our Macedonian
Orthodox Christmas, Good Friday, Easter Saturday, our Patron's
day "St. Clement of Ohrid" in early December and
Golema Bogorodica in late August.
