Our 2026 Annual General Meeting — A Community in Its Growth Era

This spring, members of St. Clement of Ohrid Macedonian Orthodox Church gathered for our 2026 Annual General Meeting. It was an afternoon to reflect on the past year, celebrate achievements, take questions from our members, and look forward to the year ahead.

What emerged clearly is that our community continues to grow, not only in numbers, but in strength and optimism for the future. 

Church revenue reached a record high of $1.66 million this past year, outpacing total expenses even as we have increased investment in capital projects and community programming. This growth reflects disciplined stewardship and a clear direction from the board over the past several years.

The most meaningful measure of where we stand, however, is our membership.

In the past year alone, 117 new or reactivated members joined our congregation, and over the past three years, our active membership has more than doubled. These numbers represent families choosing to invest in this community, young professionals signing up for the first time, and longtime parishioners who had stepped away finding a reason to return.

What stands out most is the enthusiasm from younger generations. This has been driven by intentional spiritual and cultural programming that honours our traditions while presenting them in a way that resonates today and creates a strong sense of belonging and ownership.

We are grateful for the trust our members have placed in our board, our parish priests Fr. Sasho Celeski and Fr. Aleksandar Todorovski, and our volunteers. Under the leadership of President Boris Stoikos, now in his third year, the board has provided steady and focused direction that has directly contributed to the growth and stability we are seeing today. The results presented at the AGM are a reflection of that work, combined with the continued support of our congregation.

We also extend our gratitude to the many church sections that give life to our community. Ensemble Makedonka, the ladies auxiliary, the Miladinov Brothers literary society, our Macedonian language school, Sunday school, MYNET, the church choir, the Goce Delchev seniors club, and the St. Clement bowling league all play an essential role. Through their efforts, there is always something happening at St. Clement’s, and that consistency is what keeps people engaged and connected.

Sixty years ago, our founders laid more than a physical foundation. They established a spiritual home rooted in our ancient Orthodox faith. Today, everything we are building, every festival, every program, and every act of generosity, grows out of the life of the Church, centred in the Divine Liturgy.

This year’s AGM made it clear that this is not simply a period of growth, but one of direction and purpose. Our community is honouring its past while confidently building for the future.We ask for the continued prayers of St. Clement of Ohrid and the blessings of our Lord, that He may grant our Church many more years of unity, strength, and faithful growth.
